Connection Configuration |
Seven types of connections are available: Direct (RS-232 and USB), Secure IP (KT-400), Secure IP (KTES), Secure IP (IP Link) and Secure IP KT-1. Check the following table for the connection type versus the gateway.

In the Connection window, enter a name for the new site.
1 - Select a Gateway from the drop-down list.
2 - Select a Time Zone from the drop-down list.
3 - Select a graphic Map from the drop-down list.
4 - Select a Camera / Video View from the drop-down list.
5 - Enter the Billing Zip or Postal Code.
6 - Select the connection type from the drop-down list.
7 - Enter the MAC Address: Enter the device MAC address. The first 6 characters in the MAC address (00‐50‐F9 in the example above) cannot be modified.
The MAC address can be found on the device board. It is a 12‐Digit hexadecimal code, with each two digits separated by a hyphen (that is:
8 - Select the Controller's loop baud rate: Select the baud rate. Default is 19200.
9 - Select a Protocol: Select between TCP and UDP.
TCP if the site communicates with the gateway through a terminal server using TCP protocol. In this case, you have to configure the terminal server. To do this, follow the manufacturer’s instructions or refer to the Terminal server documentation. UDP (User Datagram Protocol), uses the IP protocol to send datagrams from one Internet application to another. It is called “connectionless” because the sender and the receiver are not required to connect before the transmission of data. Check this option if the site you are configuring uses this protocol.
• Choose between Static and DHCP: Use DHCP to obtain IP address automatically. Otherwise, enter the following parameters:
○ IP Address: The static IP address should be provided by the System Administrator.
○ Subnet Mask: This address should be provided by the System Administrator.
○ Gateway (Router): This address should be provided by the System Administrator.
○ DNS Server: This address should be provided by the System Administrator.
In the Connection window, edit the name of the site in both languages.

1 - Enter an Encryption Key: Enter a 16‐Digit hexadecimal code to secure your connection or use the automatically generated value.
2 - Select Enable KT-Finder diagnostic for IP Device: Check this box if you want to use the KT‐Finder as a configuration and troubleshooting tool.
3 - Select Override Gateway IP Address: Select the checkbox and enter the following parameters:
○ Domain Name: Enter the computer name or the workgroup from which the EntraPass Server is a member. Once you have entered the domain name, click on the Test DNS button. This should display the corresponding IP address.
○ IP Address: Enter an IP address.
4 - You can select or deselect the Enable Connection checkbox at the top right.
5 - Once your connection configuration is complete, click Save or Cancel to return to the Sites window.
